Yoga
has helped me reduce my anxiety tremendously, it allows me to accept my body as
it is, and it has regulated my digestion and monthly physical cycles!! M.R.

Yoga is helping me recover the middle of my body, which was seriously injured
about a year ago. I feel like there is something that now connects my chest to
my legs. S.H. Ewing
Yoga
has rounded out my physical fitness program by providing a non-impact
alternative. Yoga is the perfect compliment to a fairly rigorous workout program
that includes weight training. My improved flexibility and balance have helped
my performance in other sports and I feel it has prevented injuries as well. G.C.

I've
been taking yoga classes with Monica and Bob for about three years. These
classes have changed my life! Most of my old aches and pains are gone and my
general health and fitness level is much improved. I love attending these yoga
classes and am most grateful for Monica's and Bob's talents and gifts. J. S.

Yoga
has increased my range of motion allowing me to approach my goal of doing the
butterfly stroke in the pool and even a better breast stroke, ( my least
favorite stroke). Yoga has also helped me to be more mindful of my posture more
often during the day. Yoga has also given me the opportunity to meet more people
with whom I share values. During my practice of Yoga with you and my fellow
practitioners, I am closer to God than most times during my day. I sometimes say
a quick , "Thank you God" when I accomplish a pose. D. S. Newtown
For
years I had my back "go out" then it went out for a continuous period
of about five years, constantly getting worse. I had pain when sitting, looking
down, putting shoes on, standing up. Getting out of the car took quite a few
minutes for me to get moving. An MRI showed a herniated disc. A doctor wanted to
operate. On a good day I went to a Yoga class and was able to most of the stretches
without pain. I joined the group, went twice a week, and after a few months it
occurred to me that I had no pain when I stood up, bent over, etc. When a
familiar pain occurs, I do child pose, a few triangles as quickly as I can.
It works. I am happy. K. G. Ewing
A
couple of yrs. ago I started experiencing lower back pain. Minor pain
periodically, but I started waking up with stiffness in my lower back. This I
concluded stemmed from a lower back injury from well over fifteen yrs. ago. Yoga
has eliminated this completely. Not only do I no longer have lower back pain, I
love the meditative value it adds as well. I feel the best I've felt in a long
time. D. T. Newtown
At 43 years old I started loosing height. I went from 5'3 1/2" to 5'3"
and became concerned. I started practicing yoga on a regular basis and after 1
year actually gained the 1/2 " back! I directly attributed this to yoga.
Now I stand up taller and am more aware of my posture. L. C.

It
has been three years, since I have joined the yoga classes. The best proof of
liking them is that I am still coming and don't mind waking up early in the
morning (most of the time) to be there at six a.m. I have noticed improvement in
flexibility, strength and endurance. I also feel that my posture is better.
There are definitely some improved aspects of my health I am not aware of. I
have to mention that from 10 people in my work I am the only one who has not
been sick or had a cold during these 3 years of practicing
yoga. E. H. Newtown
I often tell people how much Yoga has helped me. I work in a high paced
environment at an Advertising Agency and I love it when I can start my day off
with some inner peace and working knowledge that you can always strive for a
little more. As far as the physical ramifications, I definitely see a difference
when I can attend regularly, some times our schedules conflict with the early AM
classes. I have a severely handicapped daughter that requires her to be carried
and I have developed tendonitis in my shoulder, but when I am faithful about
coming to class, the pain virtually becomes nil. Thanks for making the class
enjoyable! M.K. Newtown
I
was hospitalized with colitis in July 2001, taking as much asacol as I possibly
could with very little relief. I started taking Yoga in September and 2 months
later I realized that I forgot to take my medication because I wasn't
experiencing any symptoms. It wasn't a fluke. The colitis cleared up and I've
been off medication ever since. I attribute this recovery to Yoga.
